THROW IN THE TOWEL ON HOLY GROUND

 



I want to encourage you to stop fighting from a defeated mindset!

The devil wants you to throw in the towel, quit, and surrender…BUT NOT TO GOD. The devil wants you to surrender APART FROM GOD. He is working overtime to push you to surrender on his own turf. See, when you throw him the towel that means you are stepping out of the fight. But please consider, WHERE are you throwing the towel (on what turf?) and to WHOM are you throwing the towel to?

I get it, we all have difficult seasons/situations in our lives and sometimes our strength is zapped from fighting. When our strength is gone, we’re most likely to become more wobbly on our feet, less confident in ourselves, more overwhelmed with our circumstances, and less faith in the God of the impossible. When this is happening to us, we often forget HOW TO STAND like Paul instructs us in Ephesians 6. I want you to consider this: how we can stand from a place of victory, if we’ve already made up our minds that we are defeated? How can we take a victor’s posture, if we’ve already thrown in the towel on the devil’s turf?

SELAH

I would encourage you today to throw in the towel on HOLY GROUND. Well, Carline what do you mean by this? Remember Moses experience on the mountain of God with the burning bush? (Exodus 3). God told Moses that he was standing on HOLY GROUND. When you have time read Exodus 3 & 4. In Exodus 4, God instructed Moses to take his shepherd’s staff and “throw it on the ground”. The exception here is that Moses threw his staff on HOLY GROUND BEFORE GOD AND TO GOD. Before he threw his staff down, it was his staff. But look down in the latter part of verse 20, “and he took the staff of God in his hand.” Wow! What happens when you give your all to God? What happens when you give all your problems, casting your cares, to God?

When we give our all to God, we fight from a place of victory. We have the posture of a victor. We have the posture of God is my Daddy and He sits on the throne. We can boldly enter his courts and go before His throne of grace. In 2 Corinthians 12: 9, Paul reminds us of this truth about God: “my grace is enough to cover and sustain you. My power is made perfect in weakness.” God is your sufficiency and your sustainer. So don’t fight with a defeated mindset, fight from a place of victor. And when you are done fighting, throw in your towel before God on Holy Ground, and take on the posture of a victor. He will renew your strength so you can continue to stand. As you stand, watch God’s Mighty Hand at work.

Crowded

  There were many crowds that followed Jesus during His ministry. Jesus did so many miracles, preached to so many, and had many followers. The crowd gravitated towards Jesus, and it didn’t matter where He was or how far He had to travel. When Jesus was preaching in the temple at a young age, there was a crowd. When He got baptized, there was a crowd. When a group of friends lowered their friend in front of Jesus, there was a crowd. When He saved the woman from being stoned, there was a crowd. When He healed the woman with the issue of blood, there was a crowd. When he rose up Lazarus, there was a crowd. He fed the five thousand, not including women and children…what a crowd! I could go on, but during Jesus’ ministry, you rarely read about Jesus not having crowds around Him. On The Way To Bethlehem

  You probably could tell the story of Jesus being born without even reading the Bible verses as reference. Just go in a store and look at their Christmas inventory. You would find scripture verses, angels, stars, wise men, shepherds, and the ever-famous Nativity scene. What is the significance of the Nativity scene?
