Our Covenant Keeping God
slideplayer.com
The Word of God is powerful, edifying, sanctifying, and
full of promises for His children. We want the Word of God to be so firmly rooted
in our hearts that no one can steal it away, twist The Truth of it, or we
forget about it. We need to remind ourselves on a daily basis that God keeps His
promises. The Bible says that “God is not a man that He should lie” and that whatever
He speaks will not return to him void (“empty or without fruit”) (Numbers 23:19
& Isaiah 55: 11).
I know that sometimes when I get stressed out, anxious or
worried about things. I quickly forget what the Word says. I can find myself
focusing so much on my problems that I forgot about the promises of God. We are
reminded in Joshua 1: 8 that we should not let the Word of God “depart from
your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to
do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have success.”
I believe it is to the best of our benefits if we keep
the promises of God in our hearts and minds at all times. I believe they should
flow out of us (“The mouth speaks of what the heart is full of.” Luke
6: 45) in whatever situation we find ourselves in.
Let’s try our best to meditate on these words so we can use them in
whatever situation we find ourselves in: there are many others but here is some
to get us started!
Jehovah Jireh: God will provide (Genesis 22: 14)
Jehovah Rapha: The God who Heals (Exodus 15:26)
Jehovah Nissi: The Lord is my banner (Exodus 17: 15)
Jehovah Tsidkenu: The Lord is our righteousness (Jeremiah 23: 6)
Jehovah Shalom: The Lord our Peace (Judges 6:24)
Jehovah Rohi: The Lord our Shepherd (Psalm 23:1)
Jehovah M’Kaddesh: The Lord who Sanctifies You (Exodues 31:13)
Jehovah Shammah: The Lord is There (Ezekiel 48:35)
Jehovah Sabaoth: The Lord of Hosts (1 Samuel 1:3, Isaiah 1: 24, Psalm
46:7)
Warm Wishes,
Carline
