Unplanned Transitions

I’ve been seeing a lot of memes on social media about the year 2022. I think some of us might agree with this one, “can I see the terms and conditions for 2022?”. We all can say that some parts of years 2020 and 2021 were not what we expected. For the past several days, I’ve been thinking of what title to give year 2021. For some or most of us, it has been a challenging year-a year full of ups & downs, twists and turns, and the occasional smooth or rough landing. I dubbed this year and 2020, unplanned transitions. There were a lot of things that happened in this year that some of us didn’t see coming. Like life literally smacked us in the face and told us we’re number one, if you know what I mean. Some of us faced basic needs & financial woes, relationship, medical, employment, legal, mental challenges, and natural disasters. Let’s not forget the most evident, death of loved ones. I lost 2 people, my grandmother in June and one of my best friends in September.   I ...

“Oh There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays...” Yes? No? Maybe? Never!?

Are you happy that the holidays  almost are  over or are you sad that the holidays are  almost over ?  Maybe you’re  in the boat of, “what holidays? I  don’t  celebrate any holidays,  it’s  just another day for me.” Or  maybe you’re  in the boat of “the holidays are too painful, they bring up bad memories, and I would prefer not to talk about them.” No matter where your answer is on that spectrum, this post is for you! Well,  I’m  not sure what my answer is  right now , all I know is that my holidays were a little  different  this year.    Christmas is my favorite time of the year because to me,  it’s  all about  gift giving  and  togetherness.  I like when my family gets together,  participate  in our holiday traditions, cook, bake, eat, play games, call our extended relatives, eat, joke around, watch some movies, eat, open presents, br...

What are you looking for?

Have you ever lost something? Yep! We’ve all been there! Some people lose socks, earrings, pens but have you ever lost a favorite or sentimental item? How about telling yourself “I’m  gonna  hide this here or I will place this there, so I don’t forget it” but you end up misplacing it anyways? LOL. I  strongly  dislike looking for lost or misplaced items. Sometimes I get so frustrated that I start crying and usually a family member  has to  calm me down. Life sometimes throws us for a loop and lately  maybe the  correct word is “a roller coaster ride?” Just when we think we have a handle on things, another upside loop or swivel throws us off course. We all have lost something in our lives. We all have lost someone in our lives. And sometimes, some of us has lost more than just “something or someone” in our lives. We all at some point in our lives are looking for purpose and meaning. What are you looking for in life? What has happened that br...
