THROW IN THE TOWEL ON HOLY GROUND

Image
I want to encourage you to stop fighting from a defeated mindset! The devil wants you to throw in the towel, quit, and surrender…BUT NOT TO GOD. The devil wants you to surrender APART FROM GOD. He is working overtime to push you to surrender on his own turf. See, when you throw him the towel that means you are stepping out of the fight. But please consider, WHERE are you throwing the towel (on what turf?) and to WHOM are you throwing the towel to? SELAH I get it, we all have difficult seasons/situations in our lives and sometimes our strength is zapped from fighting. When our strength is gone, we’re most likely to become more wobbly on our feet, less confident in ourselves, more overwhelmed with our circumstances, and less faith in the God of the impossible. When this is happening to us, we often forget HOW TO STAND like Paul instructs us in Ephesians 6. I want you to consider this: how we can stand from a place of victory, if we’ve already made up our minds that we are...

REVIVE Your Dream: RENEW Your Faith

Image
bible.com I’ve had some very interesting conversations with God about this new year. Many of them have left me speechless and in awe of His goodness in my life. Many times He has brought up the desires of my heart even those I have placed in the back burner. My response was like “God how do YOU know that?” Dumb question, right? LOL! I was not freaked out to by some of those conversations. My response to God was more of Him knowing my deepest unspoken wishes. To be honest with you, I had given up on some of those dreams. I think the older I got, the more I let go of some of them. Well, God brought them back. He reminded me of my biggest dream He fulfilled when I was a preteen. It wasn’t to remind me of His goodness, although it did. It wasn’t to remind me of where I was and where I am now, although it did. And it wasn’t to remind me of to keep dreaming, although it did. Instead, He reminded me of my faith in Him when I prayed that prayer. He reminded me of my child-like belief i...

Light a Candle

Light a Candle This time of the year is typically a joyous occasion for most of the world. We decorate our homes, offices, cars, etc. with holiday décor. We make time to join in holiday festivities such as Christmas plays, choirs, or orchestras. If you live up North, maybe you’re enjoying the snowy weather and looking forward to making snowmen, snow angels, sledding, ice skating, etc. We make our wish lists and fulfill others’ wish lists, and so on and so forth.   The busyness of the holidays can mask the fact that not everyone enjoys this time of year. For years, I found it difficult to understand why others would not enjoy Christmas like I did. Over the years, as I have grown, I came to the realization that not everyone can be truly joyous during the holidays for many reasons. Many of us are facing this season for the first time and/or again without dearly loved ones in our midst. Other people have faced unexpected hardships, pain, and grief this year alone. Dep...
