The Golden Years

Image
January 2 nd was my parents 52 nd Anniversary and I want to wish them a Happy Anniversary!!! For more than 10 years now, I’ve enjoyed making them an upscale Anniversary dinner and it was something that my sister and I started together. I’m not a gourmet chef but I cook with love. This year Dad wanted it simple because he likes for me to not run around the kitchen busting my derriere so much lol. So, I kept it simple yet with classy ingredients…pictures below 😊 Can you imagine being married to someone for 52 years?? Mom said she could write a book on marriage and I believe her! I don’t think marriage is always a walk in the park but making a lifelong commitment helps to keep it growing. The most important things I’ve learned from their marriage are keeping God at the center of it all, respect, love and sacrifice for each other, communicating, spending time together, and at times giving each other some space. Every now and then, Mom and Dad “date” each other and go out and do t...

The Rhythm of God’s Love

I was part of my friend’s launch team for her book and let me tell you, you’re gonna want to read this and read the book, “Love’s Lost Star” (available where books are sold, I pre-ordered mine from Amazon). I already told my friend about the book but I intentionally left this out until release day. Reading Jason & Cece’s story made me realize that I want to do something different in my walk with God this year. I want to  rest  in the  rhythm of His love . I know that  God is Love  and that he loves me but I want something deeper with Him this year.  Resting in God’s love  means that I want to remain unbothered by life’s circumstances because He is my Shepherd, my Strong Tower, my Shield and my Rampart. I want my soul to rest in that Truth. Jason’s and Cece’s story is about God’s forgiveness, restoration, provision, grace and love for us. How they first met reminded me of a couple dancing for the first time, trying to find their rhythm and on...

Something is different this year!

To be honest with you, I did not want to make any New Year resolutions.  I can’t even begin to tell you why because I don’t even know why. I just sensed that this year would be  different  for me but I couldn’t even begin to tell you how. I looked up the definition to “New Year’s resolution” in Merriam-Webster dictionary: “a promise to do something  differently  in the New Year”. Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet? Have you thought about what you want to do  differently  this year than last year?   The more I thought about it, I made up my mind to continue what I was doing last year when it comes to my health, but God interjected lol. I’ve been able to manage my diabetes by watching what I eat and exercising. Managing any type of chronic illness is difficult and I’ve learned it takes perseverance, will power, and determination to do so. I am very happy with my blood sugar readings, except for the occasional slip up of eating he...
